Jude Okoye: No New Signing Until Psquare Retirement

‘What’s not broken need no fixing shot in the arm’, and Jude Okoye, CEO Northside Entertainment/Square Records hold these words in his heart.

The multi-award winning video director and avuncular sibling of the musical duo Psquare shared this in an interview with Hiphop World magazine.  ’I don’t know about Peter and Paul but me personally I won’t sign any artiste until P-Square stops singing, that is the same thing I said when you asked me why I’m not shooting videos for other artistes, everyone that comes under this umbrella will start comparing.’

Also pushing the boundaries further, Jude Okoye reveals reasons why he privately declines extending his video-directing virtuosity to other musicians. ‘That’s the reason why in managerial aspect and even shooting videos, people will definitely want to compare, so because of that I made up my mind that I’m better off on my own’.

Maybe the well-publicized row between the Okoyes and May D that hit the news lines last year is a contributing factor. Maybe not, but as clichés go, Once beaten, you’d forever be marooned in shy-land…
