Sad news for Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey fans – the rapper and R&B singer will not be returning as judges for the next season of American Idol.
Minaj on Thursday, May 30, 2013 posted on her Twitter page ‘time to focus on the music’, a few hours after Carey had announced she wasn’t coming back so she could focus on her upcoming tour.
The pair had a turbulent relationship on the show, often bickering and almost getting into physical fights.
Long-time judge Randy Jackson announced earlier this month that he was leaving the show before the 12th season finale which was won by Candice Glover.
Others who have left in the past include Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Simon Cowell.
